Yes this should be understood, efforts of openpli team on dreambox used commercially by dmm to increase their sales, and now we ask openpli to support new boxes from dreambox,i think this is unfair unless dmm gives something for openpli for their effort and do not expect will do so. If not, accept what we do and how we do it, or move on. If you want a say in what we do, stop being a backseat driver, learn to program, and join the team. You didn't buy a product from us, you didn't pay us for either the product or the support you get, we never told anyone they should buy a Dreambox, we never told anyone we would support them till the end of days no matter the cost.

If we decide tomorrow to stop making software for STB's, and start making it for toasters, that is our decision. We do things for free, in our spare time, for our own enjoyment. I don't really see why we have to constantly justify our decisions to every Tom, Dick and Harry that thinks they have a right to complain about this. Since it still builds without any intervention. We have reached this point for all boxes except the DM8000. At that point, we will effectively stop with all support. The Dream Multimedia hardware currently supported by OpenPLi will remain active in our automated build environment, which means images will be generated and feeds will remain available, until we get to a point that this is no longer possible without intervention. You found the link, I assume you have read it too? So you announce it in october 2013 we are 4 years later and you still build images for DM8000. This is a sort of double language announcing out and loud that you will stop support DMM boxes in 2013, then by switching to OpenPLi RC6 wasn't it the good time to totally stop any DMM build? I can understand that this confuse end-user to see that there is still an image RC6 for DM8000. Kant, "Political writings" (1784) '>'> - the jolly text on Enlightenment, at the basis of Modernity. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding! Laziness and cowardice are the reasons why such a large proportion of men, even when nature has long emancipated them from alien guidance." I. This immaturity is self-incurred if its cause is not lack of understanding, but lack of resolution and courage to use it without the guidance of another. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. I'd really appreciate some help with this, I don't have a clue what's gone wrong with it."Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-incurred immaturity. Please give me some advice on what to do, I tried re-flashing it, but the computer does not recognize the Dreambox. I then turned it off and turned it on again, but all I see now is the Gemini Image logo, and no reaction from the remote control except for the blinking green light on the box. I searched for the rest of the channels but none were found, like the dish had become completely useless, even though I could still watch the BBC channels.
I had around 25 channels on my favourites list, (BBC's, ITV's, C4, E4 etc.) but then, when I checked the Favourites list a minute later I only had the 4 BBC's. I downloaded and installed it, and eventually I got it working, and was able to watch all the channels on the computer, although I still couldn't record. I looked around the internet for another program to watch the Dreambox on a PC, and found mFarag.

I got the NGrab program, and connected the Dreambox up to the computer (using a null cable), and was able to control the box from the PC (change channels etc.), I could also set the timer to record, but it never saved onto the external drive I had connected up to the computer.
